The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI)

The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) established a specialized Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in The Hague, The Netherlands, in 2017. The Centre’s mission is to advance understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and related technology with a special focus on the aspects of crime, justice and other threats to security.

Other areas of research include setting responsible limits on facial recognition technology, the dual nature of AI to support counter-terrorism activities and its potential to be misused by malicious actors.

The LAC4’s mission is to enhance cyber capacities in the LAC region, delivered by the EU CyberNet Project though its Expert Pool and in collaboration with other EU-funded capacity building projects and international partners. The center serves as a training and knowledge hub for sharing expertise in cybersecurity and cybercrime, facilitating practical collaboration between the LAC region and the EU as well as other like-minded partners, and promoting the benefits of an open, free and inclusive cyberspace.

Developing Capacity Ltd.

Developing Capacity is a research and consultancy company dedicated to supporting cyber capacity building (CCB) and cyber diplomacy.  The company was founded in 2020 to meet a growing need for specialist CCB services.  Its main clients are governments, international organisations and the implementers of CCB programmes.  The services it provides include bespoke research, advice on the design of new projects or events, training for project teams and support to tender and grant applications.
