Partner Description: CYDIPLO will explore the emerging field of cyberdiplomacy, in the EU and with key strategic partners. Drawing on perspectives from computer science, political science, law, and behavioural science, it explores a variety of questions, including, how is cyberdiplomacy implemented at the state, non-state, regional and global levels across key issue areas? What are the major challenges and the core diplomatic instruments applied to tackle them? Does cyberdiplomacy require new tools and mechanisms?

Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD)

Partner Description: The Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD), a nonpartisan initiative housed at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, develops comprehensive strategies to deter, defend against, and raise the costs on autocratic efforts to undermine and interfere in democratic institutions. By shining a light on autocratic tactics, closing vulnerabilities in democratic systems, and imposing costs on those who seek to undermine our institutions, ASD is helping to support democratic values. Working with policymakers, the private sector, and civil society, we advance innovative thinking to better understand and counter threats to democracies worldwide, share lessons learned, and develop strategies that go beyond the standard policy toolbox.

African Civil Society on the Information Society (ACSIS)

Partner Description: The Africa Civil Society on the Information Society (ACSIS) is a civil society organisation created in 2003 with the aim to promote an inclusive information society in Africa. In order to achieve its aim, the organisation focuses on a number of tasks and activities such as: providing advice to national and regional institutions on ICT policies and strategies, conducting research on ICT-related issues, facilitating the sharing of information, expertise, and best practices on the use of ICT for development, and contributing to capacity building activities, in partnership with other national, regional and global organisations. ACSIS participates in Internet governance processes and organisations such as the global Internet Governance Forum, the African Internet Governance Forum, the WSIS Forum, and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

Liberia Cyber Crime Prevention and Mitigation Agency (LCCPMA)

Partner Description: The Liberia Cyber Crime Prevention and Mitigation Agency (LCCPMA) is a Non Governmental Agency established 2019 to provide cyber security and digital forensics education to the Government and people of Liberia. The Agency was accredited by the Ministry of Justice to implement its mandate in the areas of supporting Government and Private entities initiatives in the fields of cyber security and digital forensics. LCCPMA’s Mission is to enhance the ability of public and private institutions within the Republic of Liberia ability to prevent and mitigate cybercrimes through policies formulations, training, and awareness. And also use a proactive technique to provide cyber and digital forensics training. LCCPM has the mandate to provide cyber security education, create a safer cyber environment for citizens to interact, provide technical assistant to judicial and law enforcement entities, develop standards and strategies to combat cyber risks, conduct cyber crime assessments and provide cyber defensive capabilities to the general business communities.

InFuture Foundation

Partner Description: InFuture Foundation is a Botswana based civil society organisation that promotes cybersecurity awareness and digital literacy through media campaigns and outreach activities. The organisation runs a programme called eBotho, which is an initiative developed to deliver cybersecurity awareness informational and educational campaigns through media messages, an annual cyber smart challenge and peer to peer education. InFuture Foundation works with a team of experts who develop media messages, appear in broadcast media programmes, provide news commentary and thought leadership on online risks and promote cyber hygiene. The organisation collaborates with local and international partners such as the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Botswana, Botswana Communications regulatory Authority, Cyber Resilience for Development(Cyber4Dev) and European Union Mission in Botswana. InFuture Foundation is founded by David Moepeng, a qualified cyber psychologist with an MSc in Cyberpsychology from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom.

CREST

Partner Description: CREST is an international not-for-profit accreditation and certification body that represents and supports the technical information security market. CREST provides internationally recognised accreditations for organisations and professional level certifications for individuals providing vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, cyber incident response, threat intelligence services and Security Operations Centre (SOC) services. All CREST member companies undergo regular and stringent assessment; while CREST qualified individuals have to pass rigorous examinations to demonstrate knowledge, skill and competence. CREST is governed by elected Councils of experienced security professionals who also promote, develop and support awareness, ethics and standards within the cyber security marketplace.
