Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC)

Partner Description: Based in Melbourne, Australia the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC) is a not-for-profit cybersecurity assessment, evaluation and research organisation that conducts evidence-based cybersecurity capacity building in the Indo-Pacific. Jointly owned by eight Victorian Universities, the OCSC is focused on building regional capabilities through a mix of national cybersecurity capacity assessments, independent evaluations, localised research, and educational programs. The OCSC is the regional implementor of the Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM). We work in partnership with the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC) at the University of Oxford to conduct national cybersecurity capacity assessments in the Indo-Pacific using the CMM. As of March 2023, OCSC have deployed the CMM to: Samoa; Tonga; Vanuatu; Papua New Guinea; Kiribati; the Federated States of Micronesia, Tuvalu, the Cook Islands and Nauru.

NUPI

Partner Description: Through the cyber security program NUPI seeks to bridge the gap between the technical community and the policy world with research focusing primarily on the political dimension of cybersecurity. Through NUPI’s Centre for Cyber Security Studies we are concerned with norms and state behavior in cyber space, development assistance and capacity building, societal vulnerabilities, sovereignty and cyberspace, global governance and cyberspace. They track new developments in cybersecurity, and provide academic studies, expert analysis and strategic policy recommendations. NUPI’s focus on Cybersecurity and Developing Countries aims to systematically explore cybersecurity risks and assess cyber capacity building in developing countries. They provide academic publications as well as policy briefs on global implications and challenges pertaining to cyber security, and on risks and opportunities for donors countries, NGOs and international organizations to assist developing countries with cyber security capacity building. The aim is to provide a critical analysis of how to accomplish and improve cyber capacity building in practice.NUPI seeks to enhance the understanding of today’s increased dependency on a functional cyberspace and what this entails in terms of vulnerabilities, crime and conflict. Another area of focus is on International governance and regulation, with particular emphasis on the private sector and the dependence on them to providing cyber security nationally and internationally. Through their extensive international and national network within cybersecurity we work with a wide range of global partners, including governments, military, international organizations, academia and the private sector. NUPI organizes several seminars and events aimed at enhancing public awareness and knowledge of the various challenges associated with cyber security in Norway as well as internationally.

Northern Ireland Co-operation Overseas (NI-CO)

Partner Description: Since its establishment by the Northern Ireland government in 1992, NI-CO has emerged as one of Europe’s leading technical assistance providers. Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the project management organisation has successfully delivered over 600 projects in 82 countries world-wide on behalf of the major multi-lateral and bi-lateral funding agencies. In recent years NI-CO has implemented more than 10 EU Grant Actions, either as Co-ordinator or Implementing Partner, and, as a result of a six-pillar assessment by the European Commission, has been awarded eligibility for indirect management of EU Actions. NI-CO has in-depth experience of implementing large scale multi-country Actions in the justice and security sectors, and has also delivered a number of capacity building projects in the areas of serious organised crime and the prevention of terrorism.Under its six-pillar assessment (PAGoDA) NI-CO is responsible for implementing the Cyber4Dev project on behalf of the European Commission. In this role, NI-CO manages inputs to the project from UK and EU MS partner organisations and provides access to a wide range of institutions responsible for cyber security research, policy development, regulation and operations for countries in need of capacity building. NI-CO is responsible for the implementation, and quality assurance of all technical inputs delivered by EU partners which include Estonia and the Netherlands.

Partner Description: New America is a Washington DC-based think tank and civic enterprise committed to renewing policy, prosperity, and purpose in the Digital Age. New America’s cybersecurity capacity building work seeks to link the cybersecurity community and the international development community, and infuse the practice of cybersecurity capacity building with data to help identify the most effective means of building capacity by leveraging its empirical research and convening power. This work is supported by the United Kingdom’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the Hewlett Foundation, Microsoft and, through a wider capacity building partnership, Florida International University.

NASSCOM

Partner Description: NASSCOM is the apex body for the 181 billion dollar IT BPM industry in India. While spearheading initiatives at local, national and global levels. it has supported the industry towards seeking trust, credibility and respect from varied stakeholders across 600 destinations in 80 countries. Today the association has more than 2500 members in its fold which together account for 90% of the industry’s revenue. Being a part of NASSCOM, one also has access to Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and the Future Skills platform. The former is committed to making the cyberspace safe, secure and trusted by establishing best practices, standards and initiatives. To further its objectives, DSCI engages with governments and their agencies, regulators, industry sectors, industry associations and think tanks for policy advocacy, thought leadership, capacity building and outreach activities. On the other hand, Future Skills, an industry utility, has a vision to accelerate India’s journey to build skills and become the global talent hub in emerging technologies. It is estimated that the industry will require 1.5 – 2 million digitally trained people in the next 5 – 7 years, a goal massive enough to need catalysts such as Future Skills, a NASSCOM initiative.

Meridian Community

Partner Description: The Meridian Process aims to exchange ideas and initiate actions for the cooperation of governmental bodies on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) issues globally. It explores the benefits and opportunities of cooperation between governments and provides an opportunity to share best practices from around the world. The Meridian Process emerged from the first Meridian Conference, hosted in the UK in 2005 and the subsequent conferences held in Hungary, Sweden, Singapore, the United States of America, Taiwan, Qatar, Germany, Argentina, Japan, and Spain in October 2015.

IPANDETEC

Partner Description: IPANDETEC is a digital rights organization based in Panama City, Panama and they have been working in the Central American region since 2017. The organization promotes the use and regulation of ICTs and the defense of the human rights in the digital environment. Their work is focused on two main areas: promoting the cyber laws and policies based in an human rights perspective and participating in local and regional policy processes in Latin America. IPANDETEC have been working with local and regional partners in the multistakeholder discussion and development of the nationals cybersecurity strategies in Panama and Guatemala.

INsig2

Partner Description: INsig2 is specialized in digital forensics solutions and services. We provide a wide range of services, from consulting and education to equipping laboratories, always keeping up with the latest technologies. Consulting services, in the field of digital forensics, offered by INsig2 are very efficient and personalized type of assistance to customers whenever and wherever they need it the most. We advise, support and conduct investigations for public sector (military, government, police, special task forces) and private sector (corporations and small businesses). Clients often use our consulting services in complex investigations when they deal with complex problems or when they need help with advanced forensic tools. However, consulting services do not stop here. They also include assistance in construction of laboratories, training and certification of experts and investigative procedures simulation. INsig2 also, provides consulting services and close cooperation to judges, prosecutors and lawyers in presenting digital evidence in a legal system. Since 2008, INsig2 has its own educational center with high quality capacity conduct a variety of high quality digital forensic trainings. Our education program includes principles and methodology of digital forensics, a legal perspective of working with digital evidences as well as the use of hardware and software forensic tools manufactured by the world’s leading vendors. As an Authorized Training Partner for a world’s leading forensic vendors, we are providing trainings with official vendor certifications. INsig2 offers a number of general training programs which are not related to specific products; basics of digital forensics, network forensics, Windows operating systems forensics, Linux and Mac forensics, forensics of mobile devices, python scripting, malware analysis and advanced digital forensics procedures.
