Partner Description: The UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime provides focussed technical assistance for capacity building, prevention and awareness raising, international cooperation, data collection and research and analysis on the phenomenon, principally in developing countries. The main geographic nexus for the Programme in 2016 are Eastern Africa, Central America and South East Asia with key aims of:
Increased efficiency and effectiveness in the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of cybercrime – especially online child sexual exploitation and abuse – within a strong human-rights framework;
Efficient and effective long-term whole-of-government response to cybercrime, including national coordination, data collection and effective legal frameworks, leading to a sustainable response and greater deterrence;
Strengthened national and international communication between government, law enforcement and private sector with increased public knowledge of cybercrime risks. The UNODC Global Programme on Cybercrime is kindly funded by the Governments of Australia, Canada, Norway, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
