CyberPeace Institute

Partner Description: The CyberPeace Institute is an independent non-profit organization headquartered in Geneva that works to enhance the stability of cyberspace. It seeks to decrease the frequency, impact, and scale of destructive cyber-attacks against civilians by sophisticated actors. The Institute promotes transparency about such attacks to hold malicious actors to account for the harms they cause on vulnerable communities and populations. To this end, the Institute’s mission is to ensure a human-centric response to cyber operations. The CyberPeace Institute tackles cyberattacks through a holistic approach based on our strategic objectives:

1. Assistance: accelerate victims’ recovery and resilience and aid communities that are vulnerable to cyberattack through direct engagement with vulnerable and affected communities.
2. Accountability: facilitate the collective analysis and investigation of cyberattacks when they happen, assess their harm, and ensure that malicious actors are held accountable for their activities.
3. Advancement: reinforce and advance alignment and adherence to international laws and rules and promote positive and responsible behaviour by all stakeholders in cyberspace.
4. Foresight and Capacity Building: forecast and analyze security threats associated with emerging and disruptive technologies, to innovate breakthrough solutions, and to close the skill gap to address global cyber challenges.
