During the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW), Singapore has expressed her interest for becoming a GFCE member. The SICW that took place from 10 – 12 October was the occasion for Singapore to show its ambition to be the frontrunner in the field of Cyber, both within the ASEAN region as in the international community. The GFCE Secretariat was invited to the SICW, Wouter Veenstra participated in a Cyber Leaders’ Symposium.
Singapore prioritizes cyber security
The SICW was organized by the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) of Singapore, a government agency under the Prime Minister’s Office that was established only a year ago to incorporate the governments’ cyber security activities on strategy and international cooperation. The CSA works closely with private organizations and is making grand investments in cyber education. During the SICW, Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong presented Singapore’s first Cybersecurity Strategy. During the Cyber Leaders’ Symposium, Mr. David Koh (CE CSA) announced that Singapore has interest to join the GFCE.
