Partner description: The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies (PIPS) is a Washington DC-based, independent, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit public policy research institute. PIPS is committed to identifying and shepherding non-partisan discussions on key science and technology issues facing society, including cybersecurity, cyber capacity building, supply-chain risk management, and other important cyber policy issues. The Cyber Readiness Index 2.0 (CRI 2.0) project developed a first-of-its-kind methodology to assess countries’ commitment and maturity to closing the gap between their current cybersecurity posture and the national cyber capabilities needed to support their digital future. This unique methodology challenges the conventional wisdom that cybersecurity is predominately a national security issue. It demonstrates how national security is closely intertwined with Internet connectivity and the rapid adoption of ICT, which – when secure and resilient – can lead to economic growth and prosperity.The CRI 2.0 has had substantive policy impact on major international institutions and and is viewed by countries, international organizations, think tanks, and researchers as a balanced resource to evaluate and measure cyber preparedness at the national, regional, and local levels.
