12-13 April: West Africa Cybersecurity Meeting

GFCE members Senegal and the Netherlands together with the UNODC have teamed up to exchange practical steps and expertise to address cybersecurity issues in Senegal and the broader West African region. On Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 April 2016 they organize a meeting in Dakar with Cyber experts from Senegal, the West African region and the world. This meeting is part of the GFCE initiative ‘Progressing Cybersecurity in Senegal and West Africa’.

Cyber experts from Senegal, West Africa and the World

During the Expert Meeting cyber security priorities in the West African region will be identified and promising lessons learned from the region will be shared. The program consists of sessions and presentations on cyber security threats, national cyber security strategies, cyber security incident response, cyber security education and cyber security legal frameworks. Among the presenters are a number of regional CERT representatives and other cyber experts. From the GFCE network there will be speakers from the African Union, the Netherlands, ITU, Senegal, the United States and others. There will also be 16 country representatives from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

This Expert Meeting is on invitation only for guests from Senegal, the West African region and GFCE members. There are a limited number of seats available for other guests.
